About Takaroa
Anuna Pearl is located on Takaroa: a small, remote atoll in the Tuamotu Archipelago of French Polynesia — home to just over 500 people and some of the most pristine waters in the world.
Takaroa has a long history of pearl farming; its lagoon is one of many that have made the Tuamotu Archipelago the home of Tahitian black pearl production.
Takaroa has been known to the outside world since 1616, when Dutch navigator Jacob Le Maire became one of the first Europeans to reach the atoll. Remote and largely untouched, the island has remained much the same ever since — a small community living in harmony with the ocean that surrounds them.
Crystal clear water, palm tree-lined shores, and a lagoon filled with marine life. It's remote, quiet, and unforgettable. A beautiful place Anuna Pearl is lucky to call home.
